
Rod Bowen, Independence Party of Alberta (TIP) Candidate for MLA

Rod Bowen was born and raised on a small farm near Castor, Alberta, where he graduated high school in
1973. He and his late wife then took on the family grain farm, and operated it and a small business for
30+ years, ending in 2012. Although now semi-retired, Rod retains ownership of the grain farm and small business.
For 3 years he worked with the Farmer Railcar Coalition, then was on the board of Unifarm and Wildrose
Agriculture Producers for 15+ years. Additionally, for 18 years, Rod was a director of the board at a
summer youth camp run by One Hope Canada.
He is father to two adult boys, who he and his late wife adopted as infants from an orphanage in
Romania. He is stepfather to a third son, and grandfather to, one girl and three boys.
Rod Bowen and his present wife reside on an acreage north of Fairview.
