Teck Frontier Mine Debacle

The Independence Party demands the UCP provincial government support our call for an immediate referendum on separation to stop the negative impact that the punitive policies of the federal government are having on the lives of Albertans.

There is no other way. Canada's federal government, with the support of the federal NDP, Greens and the Bloc Quebecois, have targeted Alberta's energy sector for decimation and there is no option but to take immediate, irreversible and assertive action.

Federal Ministers Wilkinson and O’Regan stated that the Teck “model should be an example for all proponents of future projects.” Why? Why would any company toil for 10 years and spend untold millions of dollars for nothing? These projects under the Nation of Alberta would be approved and operational in a just few short years.

Punitive Federal policies have directly caused tens of billions of dollars of investment to leave the province as the federal government fans the division and alienation of the people of Alberta from the rest of Canada.

Alberta’s decision to stay or leave rests with Albertans alone. This is not a decision for Canada. It is time to call the question.

We are Albertans.
